There has never been a better time for spreading the message of Fatima to a new generation of Catholics. We can also see the devastating effects of godlessness, materialism, moral relativism, and uninformed consciences especially among our youth today.
But there is hope and a plan for peace!
At Fatima, Our Lady presented a whole spirituality centered on devotion to her Immaculate Heart. According to Sister Lucia, “Her Heart is a sure refuge. Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is the means of salvation God has bestowed to help the Church and the world through these difficult times.”
The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will be in the Memphis Diocese from September 11 through October 1, 2015. The statue is a beautiful hand-carved image of Our Lady of Fatima given to the United States by the Bishop of Fatima after being blessed by Pope Paul VI in 1967. She was crowned by Cardinal O’Boyle at the National Basilica in Washington, DC in 1971.
This statue travels throughout the United States under the sponsorship of the World Apostolate of Fatima spreading the message of Fatima and bringing the graces of Fatima to the American people. She has proven time and again to be the catalyst for renewed interest in the message of Fatima and for exposing new generations of Catholics who are unaware of the important message of conversion and peace brought by Our Lady to the three shepherd children in 1917 at Fatima, Portugal.
The main purpose of our statue tours is to bring the graces of Fatima and Our Lady’s message of hope, peace and salvation to those many thousands of people who may never have an opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Fatima itself.
The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima is available for visits to parishes in the diocese from September 11 through October 1, 2015.
